Cancion Del Dia : Erotica

Erotica es el primer sencillo del álbum Erotica , Tanto esta canción como el álbum incluyen alusiones sexuales inusuales en la musica pop , lo que ocasionó que recibieran fuertes críticas.

Frente al contenido mayormente dance y de balada del álbum, esta canción resulta una rareza casi experimental: con una línea melódica muy difusa, la mayor parte del texto no es cantado sino recitado, y la parte instrumental recae en ritmos, percusión y samples de ruidos metálicos que recrean el sadomasoquismo. La canción arranca con ruidos de un disco de vinilo antiguo; para evitar equívocos, el cuadernillo del álbum advertía de que tal efecto era intencionado y no una deficiencia del cd. Después se replican unas pocas notas muy graves, y otras de piano deslavazadas como una vieja melodía tocada con desgana. Por toda la canción se suceden ruidos propios de un garaje o nave industrial, combinados con samples de piano, saxofón y otros instrumentos clásicos que recrean una estética decadente, como de cabaret. El resultado es una producción rica de matices e inquietante, pero difícil de tararear.
